Please do not be put off by my ramblings about what may
seem to many as walking vast distances. I have suddenly realised
that all I talk about are walks that are long with lots of hills. I
just happen to like long distance walks though compared to some, I
do nothing more than strolls.
There are a mad lot who belong to the Long Distance Walking
Association who think nothing of setting out to do 100 miles or
more, in one go! Yet when you meet them, they seem to be quite
normal. Give them a pair of walking boots; probably quite well
worn; and there is no stopping them.
Walks can be planned that suit you and your ability. Okay, if
100 miles suit you that's fine but just 1 mile is fine too. You are
out enjoying the fresh air and getting exercise.
Sorry for the plug, but my book 'Around Corby' (now available in
lots of places), at a not unreasonable price of £9.99, includes
walks of all lengths, from .7 of a mile up to 14.5 miles. Or you
could walk all the way around the town - a mere 34 miles.
