We formed a working group back in September. Thanks must go to
Councillors John McGhee and Eddie McGown plus Suzanne Preston of
Corby Borough Council, Chris Elbeck of the Ramblers and John Dixon
of the Rotary Club of Corby Phoenix. All gave their time,
experience and energy to submitting the proposal to Corby Borough
Council and other requirements to meet the criteria of the Walkers
are Welcome network.
Besides approval by the Council, which was given, we needed to
gather over 500 signatures on a petition. This was achieved by
November 30th with an application for full membership as a Walkers
are Welcome town submitted before Christmas.
